What to expect at your first visit
Allow about 45 minutes. Your history, a full Gonstead examination, X-rays only if clinically indicated, and a report of findings where Dr Arthur explains what he found and what he recommends.
Before you arrive
Three things to bring
Come ten minutes before your appointment time, and wear comfortable clothing you can move in.
Your new patient form
It comes with the confirmation email when you book. Filling it in at home means your appointment time goes on you rather than on paperwork.
Any scans or reports
X-rays, CT or MRI images, specialist letters, anything already written about the problem. Dr Arthur would rather read those than send you for the same thing again.
Your health fund card
We can process most major health funds on the day, so you usually pay only the gap. Bring your health fund card and check your own level of cover.

Gonstead and neurological examination
First your posture and how you move. Then your spine, one level at a time, by hand and with an instrument that reads heat along the spine. Simple checks of your reflexes, strength and sensation check how your nerves are working.
Together with your history, this tells Dr Arthur where to look.
X-rays if clinically indicated
X-rays are taken on site only when the examination calls for them. Any fee is explained before a film is taken.
Whether imaging is needed is considered from your history and examination findings.
Report of findings
Dr Arthur explains what he found in plain language, what he recommends, how many visits he expects to start with, and the cost. If a first adjustment is clinically indicated, it happens at this visit.
The proposed plan is discussed before you decide on care.

The $99 fee covers the whole appointment. If X-rays are clinically indicated, that cost is separate and explained before anything is taken.
