How it works

Nine steps, in order

Each step is short, and we tell you at each one when to expect to hear back.

  1. 1

    Step 1Get in touch

Send us a message on Instagram or an email. A few lines are enough: who you are, where you studied or practise, and why this clinic. No cover letter needed.

What you send is handled as set out in our privacy policy (job applicants).

  2. 2

    Step 2A short video

Two to three minutes on your phone, no editing. Tell us who you are, how you came to chiropractic, how you like to practise, and what you want from the next few years. We are listening for how you think about patients and the work, not the production. If a video does not suit you, ask for the initial consultation first. Send a link where you can, an unlisted video is fine, by email.

  3. 3

    Step 3Phone/online initial consultation

About 15 minutes with the principal chiropractor. Where you are at, what you want from the next few years, and a straight description of the clinic and the role. Either of us can say it is not the right match, and no harm done.

  4. 4

    Step 4Your documents

Before you visit, email your CV, your AHPRA registration number (or your expected registration date if you are still studying), your Working with Children Check and professional indemnity insurance if you already hold them, and two referees we can ring, with their permission. A national police check is asked for after a conditional offer at step 9, as a condition of starting.

  5. 5

Step 5Clinic tour and meet the team

Come to 869 Springvale Road. See the adjusting rooms, the X-ray suite and how a day runs, and meet the people who run the front desk.

  6. 6

    Step 6Treatment swap

On the same visit, if you would like it, you and the principal chiropractor treat each other: a history, an examination and, where the examination calls for it, an adjustment, each way. Finding nothing to adjust is a fine answer. It is how we see how you examine and adjust, and how you see how the clinic works. It is optional, you can do either half or neither, and you can decline on the day. Your side happens only if you hold general registration as a chiropractor and your own indemnity cover; if not yet, we talk through a case instead. As with any patient, consent comes first, clinical records are kept both ways, separate from your application, and what is found about your own health plays no part in the decision about the role.

  7. 7

Step 7Clinical and critical thinking interview

A sit-down with the principal chiropractor that works through cases: history, examination findings, reading films, when to refer on, and what you do when the picture is not clear. There is a short written quiz as part of it. It is not a trick. It is how we see how you think.

  8. 8

    Step 8Time in clinic

Come in for a few sessions and observe: how patients are seen, how the day runs, and how the team works together, always with each patient's consent. It is time for both of us to see whether you are a match before anything is signed.

  9. 9

Step 9Final meeting, welcome and onboarding

A last sit-down to go through the facilities agreement, the terms and a start date, and to answer anything still on your mind. Then your first weeks are planned out with you, so you are not thrown in on day one.

Ready? Start with step one.

A message is all it takes. Every application goes to the principal chiropractor.

What you send is handled as set out in our privacy policy (job applicants).
