Claiming
Health funds, Medicare, TAC, WorkCover and DVA
How much you get back depends on your own cover or scheme, so check with them if you are unsure.
Private health insurance
Most extras policies include chiropractic. We have a HICAPS terminal, so you can claim on the spot and pay only the gap your policy leaves. Bring your health fund card.
Medicare chronic condition management plan from your doctor
If your doctor has put you on a chronic condition management plan and referred you to a chiropractor, you pay the fee on the day and claim the Medicare rebate. Medicare allows up to five allied health visits a calendar year under a plan, shared across all allied health providers. Bring the referral to your first visit.
TAC (transport accidents)
We accept TAC claims. The TAC can pay for chiropractic in the first 90 days after an accident without prior approval if you have a claim number, your doctor or another health professional recommends it, and it is for your accident injuries. Bring your claim number when you book.
WorkSafe Victoria (WorkCover)
We accept WorkSafe Victoria claims for injuries at work. Bring your claim number and your employer's details to the first visit.
DVA
We accept DVA. Ring the clinic before your first visit and we will talk you through what to bring.
Walk-ins
Walk-ins are welcome. We can see you if there is a free spot, so ringing ahead is the surest way to be seen.
At Advanced Chiropractic, the first visit is the $99 New Patient Visit (usually $189, new patients only). Return visits are $85. X-rays, only if clinically indicated, are $169, and the fee is explained before a film is taken.
Not on its own. If your doctor puts you on a chronic condition management plan and refers you to a chiropractor, you can claim a Medicare rebate for up to five allied health visits a calendar year, shared across all allied health providers. You pay the fee on the day and claim the rebate.
No. You pay on the day and claim back what applies to you: from your health fund on the spot through HICAPS, or from Medicare if you have a referral under a chronic condition management plan.
For TAC, your doctor or another health professional needs to recommend chiropractic, and you need a claim number. For WorkCover, bring your claim number. If you are unsure, ring the clinic before you book and we will tell you what to bring.
